The Manger and the Cross
By Janet Kaderli
The manger and the cross— Common objects of the time. One cradled innocence; The other, a penalty for crime. In a sacrificial act of grace Christ laid aside His glory. He was born to live among us And join the human story. Between the manger and the cross Jesus lived and taught and healed. He showed us what life could be When lived Spirit-filled. Reflect on the manger and the cross Then consider something more: Jesus calls for us daily. He is knocking on the door. “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” (Revelation 3:20)
